CAREERS at CAPSA

Welcome – Join CAPSA in Making a Difference!

CAPSA is a nonprofit domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape support and recovery center serving Cache and Rich Counties. CAPSA’s mission is to provide safe, caring and confidential shelter, advocacy and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and to reduce incidents of abuse through education.

CAPSA is only able to provide this life-saving and life-changing work because of the exceptionalism of our employees and the support of our community.

CAPSA’s Culture | Saving and Changing Lives

If you ask CAPSA employees to define CAPSA’s work culture, you’ll likely hear descriptors like: “collaborative”, “caring”, “trauma-informed”, and “supportive”. As an organization, CAPSA commits to a culture of respect, impactful productivity, adaptive operational excellence, cultivating innovation, fostering deep community connections, and acknowledging individual contributions. These cultural standards guide CAPSA towards being a continued catalyst of change for the benefit of the survivors and community we serve.

Employee Testimonials

Throughout my time working at CAPSA, I’ve seen that they are dedicated to improving the lives of both clients and employees. Whenever I’ve encountered a problem, I have always found supportive coworkers and supervisors ready to listen and assist me in finding solutions, ensuring we provide the best care for our clients. Additionally, the organization prioritizes the personal well-being of their employees, offering self-care tips and allowing ample time for self-care. This support helps me perform at my best, benefiting both myself and those we serve.

CAPSA is such an amazing place to be.  We prioritize impactful productivity based on our individual contributionsThis model creates a team where every single individual can contribute and find their work both impactful and fulfilling.

CAPSA signifies love, safety and compassion for me. I’ve been on the other side of those insights, and I can tell you I have never felt more valued than I have at CAPSA! The work-life balance is one of the benefits I appreciate most; I can commit time and energy into managing my professional and personal commitments while prioritizing self-care and well-being. I appreciate the time, effort and support they give survivors; this organization sets out to accomplish their mission daily to help those that need it most, and I feel very grateful for the opportunity to work for such a worthy cause!

With the support of amazing colleagues and supervisors, I have been able to advance in my career at CAPSA over the last several years. I started with the organization as a part-time staff, and I am now managing my own team as the Children and Youth Services Manager, a position developed to provide more support to our survivor children and youth.

My life mantra is “make a meaningful difference daily”, and CAPSA provides me the ideal environment to fulfill my chosen purpose. What an honor it is to be part of an organization where daily lives are changed for the better – one survivor finds a secure place to rest and heal when just yesterday they envisioned having to live on the streets, another finally feels safe enough to share the deep wounds they have carried alone for decades, one other enters the doors unsure if they will be believed or supported because everyone else in their life has deserted them and leave our doors with hope, a plan, a somebody they can rely on. If you too want to feel like you are doing something of value with your life, CAPSA is exactly the place for you.

I really appreciate CAPSA’s emphasis on “impactful productivity.” It is motivating to know that my coworkers are also focused on ensuring their contributions to the organization and survivors are meaningful. This culture standard gives us permission to change what we’re doing, and even stop working on something, if it is not effectively serving survivors or the organization.

It’s great to work for an organization that not only truly cares about survivors, but also about its employees. CAPSA knows that you need to take care of yourself in order to best take care of others, and always genuinely prioritizes the health and well-being of employees.

More about CAPSA

Founded in 1976, CAPSA was formed by a group of women who saw the need and wanted to make a difference; and they did that by staffing a crisis phone line and providing their homes as shelters for women and families fleeing violence. CAPSA was built on the foundational value of doing what is required to empower survivors of abuse.

Today, CAPSA annually serves more than 2,500 individuals escaping abuse and starting new lives with FREE and confidential emergency shelter, crisis phone line, safety planning, court advocacy, protective order assistance, clinical therapy, financial empowerment and transitional housing programs.
